Since our first efforts integrating AI into (mini) course creation back in the late 2021 (when we were the first startup pioneering this field), the progress in AI has been absolutely mind-blowing.

Now, three years later, as course creation with AI becomes significantly easier and more effective, we have been working on a new challenge, which we think is a crucial issue: eliminating AI hallucinations from courses generated based on the resource(s) uploaded.

If you're using our AI Course Creator functionality, you naturally want to preserve your resource's original tone, terminology, and structure without AI adding irrelevant content that wasn't in your source material.

We have improved our model accordingly.

Questions play a big role in life, and in your courses, as well.

They not only make your educational material interactive, but also help you assess learner comprehension and the effectiveness of your training.

To save you significant time, we've added a new feature: AI-quiz generation is now available for your existing courses.

Here's how it works:

Click on Add page where you want the questions to be added
Select AI-powered quiz from the options
Choose your content source where AI will refer to

You have three options to guide AI where to look as the content source that questions to be extracted. You can either:

Select specific sections and AI will generate questions based on your target content
Use a previously uploaded document or upload a new document as the source
Simply provide a description and let the AI handle the rest

By the way, this feature also enables Mini Course Generator to be utilized as a standalone AI-quiz maker even without course content. Just select "create from scratch," choose your content source, and your questions will be instantly generated.

You can enrich your quizzes by adding videos, images, and all other visual block elements using the drag&drop editor as well.

New Block Elements and New Languages 🧱 🌐

Following our January momentum, we’ll continue to bring you great and anticipated updates this month, as well. Let me share the highlights from the latest release:

1- New block types: Buttons

Adding visually appealing and customizable buttons with different layouts now becomes possible. Additionally, you can add downloadable files to these buttons. You can find this elements under the 'Actions' block category.

2- New block types: Text Highlights & Numbered Cards

If you want to highlight key points with numbers or icons, you can now add card-based text sections where you can adjust the number of cards.

3- New Languages Added

We've added new languages to our AI Course Creator flows. We're happy to welcome Czech, Korean, Malay, Romanian, Thai, and Vietnamese.

4- RTL support for Arabic Language

We've introduced right-to-left interface support for our Arabic language users. While the editor interface remains the same, your learners will now see your educational content in Arabic in the proper format.

Turn your resources into mini-courses! 📁

Throughout 2024, the most requested feature from us was the ability to turn resources into mini-courses, where the content output is within the context of content referred.

This feature comes with more technical challenges due to the optimization in vector databases compared to guiding AI with prompts without sticking to specific content.

During the last months, we released beta versions and gathered feedback. In addition to the optimization, it became apparent that customization and personal touch are just as important as the content output itself.

Now, we are ready and excited to show our approach.

Let's dive into the details and differences compared to alternatives.

1- The foremost: the content output itself

Although there are tools that offer "PDF2Course" ability, the output's relevancy and depth usually stay under the quality threshold in most solutions. We believe that seeing is believing, hence we kindly suggest you upload your resource to alternative tools as well as to Mini Course Generator and make a direct benchmark. While evaluating, please check whether the output is within the context of your document, reduced repetitions, relevant to your resource, and assess the depth of the content.

2- Specifying focus to be laser-sharp

PDFs you upload may include many subtopics although you want a specific part to be referred. You can define which sub-topic(s) should be used as a basis.

3- Specifying audience and the tone

Out of the same resource, you may want to generate different mini-courses for separate cohorts. You can customize this by setting the tone and defining the target audience.

4- Customizing AI images

Although generating AI images alongside with course creators is not a novel feature, usually the generated images are far from satisfactory. To make AI generate images as close as possible to what you plan in your mind, we offer 2 customization options:

You can set the style of the images, like "cinematic," "bokeh," etc. from the list or you can define your own if not listed.
You can define the demography of the people in the images, like "men over 50s living in Scandinavian region".

5- Adding quiz and feedback questions

You can set the number of quiz questions to be added for the comprehension check and add feedback questions for more interaction.

Once you upload your PDF(s) and customize options, you'll get an outline where you're free to make any changes like adding/editing/removing pages and sections. After you confirm the outline, you get the mini-course, and again, with the drag & drop builder you can easily proceed to finalize by adding your personal touches and unique know-how.

New Course Authoring Experience 🖋️

As expected, we have started the new year with a huge update: we completely improved the course authoring experience with our new drag&drop builder. This does not only make course creation process much easier, but also you have now more flexibility to arrange the structure of the pages.

Let’s quickly dive in to the details through the remarkable changes compared to the previous experience.

1- More flexible content set-up

You can set each page through the blocks with different visual structures. This brings the opportunity of presenting your content in a more customized way.

By the way, new blocks that include interactive elements are just on the way.

2- Improved In-page AI-Assistant

We've improved the in-page AI-Assistant with new prompts. Additionally, unlike the older version, you can now select specific parts to be changed instead of the whole text.

3- More flexibility on the cover page

The drag & drop builder is now available for the cover page as well, giving you more room to arrange the starting page based on your preference.

4- More easier course completion set-up

You can customize the ending page based on your goal, where you can show scores, conditional messages, or issue digital badges in addition to the classical thank you page.

5- Preview mode

You can preview your mini-course from a learner's perspective across different devices without leaving your dashboard.

6- Making embedding straightforward

Through the embed blocks, you can now easily add your content from Google, YouTube, Vimeo, Canva, SoundCloud, Spotify, and more by simply pasting the link.
